This was a 5 round event, which was played over the weekend. The top seed of the tournament IM Artur Davtyan from Armenia clinched the title scoring 4.5 points out 5 rounds convincingly. Jacob Flynn and Colm Daly shared joint second, scoring 4 points each. The tournament didn’t go well for Trisha and me we were placed 4th and 5th respectively.

Tarun, Ireland’s youngest International Master (IM) and represents Ireland at the highest level. In 2022, he became Irish Champion. His sister Trisha is a Women International Master and both have played tournament across the globe to nearly 40 countries, from Mexico to Japan. He’s secured numerous tournament victories in Ireland and Europe. His goal: become Ireland’s first homegrown Grandmaster and elevate chess to a recognized sport.
