Shoutout to my captain IM Lorin D’Costa for wonderful writing about SPTW team. I was thrilled to see my photo on UK’s best-selling CHESS magazine. Checkout their magazine here: https://chess.co.uk/collections/chess-magazine/products/chess-magazine-december-2024
Competing in the European Women’s Club Cup (EWCC) in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia, was an experience I’ll never forget. Representing She Plays To Win, I embraced the challenge of playing on Board 1 and faced some of Europe’s strongest women players. In the open section, I also had the chance to witness several Super-Grandmasters in action. It was thrilling to follow the race between Gukesh and Arjun to see who would reach the 2800 milestone first—an honor Arjun ultimately claimed.
One of the most thrilling moments was my victory over 2465-rated IM Yulia Osmak in the opening round. Playing the English Opening, I demonstrated my tactical skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations. Here’s how the game unfolded:
This game was a defining moment for me, showcasing not only my preparation but also my ability to capitalize on opportunities in a complex and tense position. Later in the tournament, I scored another victory, defeating Andreea Navrotescu with the same line, further cementing my confidence in this opening.
Competing at this level pushed me to improve my game and face challenging situations head-on. Every match taught me something new, and the experience of playing against high-caliber opponents was invaluable. Winning on Board 1, especially against a higher-rated player like Yulia Osmak, is something I’ll always cherish.
I look forward to taking on more challenges in the future. For more updates on my journey, stay tuned!
